How we decided on the topic of our presentation about work:

  1. We started discussing what we would use to show our presentation considering that half of the members of our group wouldn't be able to attend the encounter in person but through the BBB,  a sort of video conference available in our platform. Thus, we dismissed to use a Pecha-Kucha.
  2. Simultaneously, we kept suggesting ideas that could work as a topic of the world of work. Hence, we thought it might be good to give a brief summary of the history of work starting it from the Industrial Revolution.
  3. Then, we evaluated the time that would be available for the development of it.  After debating for a while, we resolved to ask our tutor about it because we consider it a determining factor to decide if the topic to be chosen should be concrete or could include, apart of the specific topic development, its background and its future perspectives.
  4. Once we knew about the time -15 minutes per group- we could think about a more precise topic.
So, we deliberated about what work is nowadays, working and living conditions, working and personal development. Though those were interesting topics, they were too long to cover in fifteen minutes.
  5. At that point, we began to talk about our working conditions: some of the members of our group described their classrooms where some windows were broken, and the roofs have leaks where the rain falls. Then, one suggested thinking about the challenges we had to face, as well as the students, who, in some cases, they haven´t even had a dish of warm food.
  6. Then, one proposed that the topic could be about our work and our personal development. There, it was when someone referred to the topic of creating attractive and interesting lessons. So, it was when we contemplated the idea of describing a lesson, and after some minutes of debate, we agreed to put together the presentation based on that topic.
